Last year, one of our awesome colleagues Ryan was diagnosed with a mediastinal germ cell tumour (a rare type of cancer). It was a shock – you don’t imagine it will happen to somebody you see every day. In and out of hospital for months, having your body bombarded with chemo and radiotherapy as well as all sorts of other chemicals – that is what Ryan had to deal with. But he dealt with it with a smile on his face (most of the time). He is a total trooper and after enduring months of treatment he was sent on his merry way with an all clear a year later! We are now lucky enough to have him back in work.

Along with all the superb work they do throughout the South West, It’s in the Bag were a huge support to Ryan during this time and after, which is why we decided without hesitation to choose them as our charity of the year.

On Sunday, a brave team took to the streets of Bristol to run the challenging Bristol Half Marathon – 13 miles of non-stop running in what can only be described as typical British weather (a bit of sun, a bit of rain, a bit of wind…).

The group was made up of mixed abilities, from the keen runner to those who purposefully trained for this race. Each worked hard to raise money for the charity resulting in a whopping £2526 for It’s in the Bag!

And to top it off, People Source came 3rd in the Half Marathon Business Challenge (SME category) so we are pretty proud of ourselves!

We will be supporting It’s in the Bag until the end of the year so if you would like to support us, please visit our fundraising page here
