People Source Annual Trip to Barcelona and Rome!

People Source Annual Trip to Barcelona and Rome!

Celebrating achievements is something we do pretty well at People Source and last weekend we did it in style! We took to the skies in a plane bound for Barcelona and spent the day dashing around the Barri Gotic in a race against time to complete a number of themed tasks set by Tim, the MD.

The trip took team building beyond the norm – it was a chance for everybody to celebrate what has been an incredible year for People Source. In addition to being named the fastest growing IT Recruitment Company by the Recruiter Fast 50 (#7 overall) we’ve settled in to our brand new office in central Bristol, hired 13 new people, participated in numerous charity events and won a couple of awards including our listing as the London Stock Exchange 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, Employer of the Year Finalist and The National Business Awards SME of the Year Finalist.

On top of that, we had the excuse to celebrate a lot of individual achievements - we promoted 10 of our Consultants, including 4 to Account Director and Associate Director level.

So as an extra celebration we were treated to a night at Barcelona’s most prestigious hotel, The W, which takes pride place on the beach and is host to the city’s top night club (which of course we graced with our presence).

After everybody arrived and spent some time marvelling at the swanky rooms with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the coastline and ocean, we split into teams and took off on a treasure hunt around the city.

“Ah, we’ve done this before – easy peasy” we all thought as we tore open our envelopes full of cash and opened up our treasure map…

But this time we were missing out the obvious tourist attractions and had instead been set a number of quirky tasks around the famous Gothic Quarter (with a few stops for sangria and tapas – obviously). Photographs with random people, eating weird food from the landmark Mercat de Sant Josep, braving the overhead cable cars, busking outside the Barcelona Metro and engaging with the notorious human statues along las ramblas were just a few of the assignments we were set.

"It’s not often you get an all-expenses paid trip to two of the most famous cities in the world! Barca and Rome are amazing cities! The treasure hunts were a great way to get to see all the attractions and also get to know some colleagues who I don’t work with on a day to day basis. All in all, a great team building weekend and a wonderful way to finish off what has been a brilliant year for our company! Can’t wait for the next one!" Ratib Ahmed, Delivery Manager

"People Source has a culture and energy like no other. The trip showed this, you could split the 50+ staff into groups randomly 100 times over and you would still have a  brilliant time who ever you end up with." Sean Hanly, Sales Support Administrator

4 hours later, everybody returned to the W where we all got to put our glad rags on and enjoy a specially reserved area of their 27th floor nightclub which attracts the glitz and glam of Barcelona, and a few celebs so we have heard. We wouldn’t have noticed anyway – we were too busy dancing the night away!

The next day, over half of the office were then flown to Rome for yet another night of Mediterranean cuisine as a treat for being over target for 2 months running.

Needless to say – an incredible weekend was had by all and we can’t wait for the next one!

We are hiring! Do you want to be part of the best recruitment company in Bristol? Give us a call to discuss opportunities on 0117 922 7000 (all conversations are in the strictest confidence).
