Technology Specialist

I am a tall and gangly but otherwise talented technology recruiter and manager. I have nearly 10 years industry experience and a passion for helping fast-growing technology companies where a real impact can be made quickly.

Start-ups are my speciality but size doesn't matter (apparently). I love working with any company that’s building cool products and using modern development tools that the technical world can get excited about!

What I do


I have spent the last decade helping tech start-ups find the right people to bring amazing product ideas to life.

I spend every day waist-deep in databases, blogs and social tools, finding and talking to the brightest technologists out there. I make a difference by really getting what it is that they do and why that’s important, before telling them in detail about the awesome companies I represent and listening to their feedback.

The work I’ve done has attracted attention and I’ve been approached by some of the leading development teams in the country to help them find talent. I’m proud that the partnerships I have built mean I get to work with some of the brightest people and most exciting businesses in the UK.

Hobbies and Interests

  • Being tall – this is a lifetime’s work.
  • Current affairs, technology and internet start-ups: I keep a keen eye on tech trends and the start-up community. I’m hired-wired into Twitter feeds and websites like TechCrunch / Kernel Mag and I’m quietly waiting for Bristol to start its own Silicon Roundabout, it’s long overdue.
  • Cooking and travel: food is a huge passion of mine and I take responsibility for cooking all cuisine aside from hearty English, which is my wife’s department (she’s far better than me). I love travelling, both for holidays and exploring. My most interesting trip involved spending some time with a family of nomads in Mongolia before catching a train across the Gobi desert to Beijing.
  • Formula One racing – following & blogging. My Dad was a racing engineer, so I’ve been brought-up on F1. My favourite race to go to is the Italian Grand Prix. It means a long-weekend in Milan, so I can combine interest #3 as well, although in truth it's more time spent eating than cooking!
  • Music and DJ-ing: I have DJ’d since I was a student and still occasionally play in clubs. Sadly, this is more to give my vinyl a dust-off than to nurture any hope of superstardom.
